You may use colored pencils, gel pens, or even crayons with your Comfy Coloring Books. However, we suggest that you use alcohol markers because of the larger spaces to color. In addition, the paper absorbs maker especially well. This is where the magic happens and leaves you a rich, smooth coat of color. As long as you put a sheet of paper, card stock, or cardboard behind the design you are coloring, you will be fine.
Alcohol markers usually have two tips, or nibs, one at each end. These bins usually consist of a brush, chisel, or a bullet point. We recommend purchasing a set of alcohol markers that have a brush at one end. We prefer a combination fo a brush for large areas and a bullet point for smaller areas.
At this time, there are two brands of alcohol markers that we recommend. Ohuhu and Copic.

Ohuhu Markers
Ohuhu markers are a great option for those looking for a quality alcohol marker but are on a budget. Ohuhu markers feature dual-tips, have replaceable nibs, and come in a wide variety of colors. Ohuhu can be purchased with a variety of nib styles, but we recommend the brush style for one of the ends. Sets range from 24 colors to 320 for those who are interested in an extensive color spectrum. In our opinion, a set with 24 colors is rather limited but a set with 320 colors is a bit much. We recommend purchasing a sweet spot between 48 and 120.
Check out the set of 48 (Click/Tap): This is a great starter set with just enough colors and a budget friendly price.
Check out the set of 72 (Click/Tap): If you’re looking for more colors, this is a great set to start with.

Copic Markers
Copic markers are the creme de la creme of the marker world, They are considered a professional alcohol marker, used by many artists throughout the world. They are very high quality, are refillable, have replaceable nibs, and come in a wide variety of over 200 colors. Classic sets, which we recommend, range from 12 colors to 72. We recommend purchasing a set with a brush nib at one end so you can get the utmost coverage.
Check out the set of 36 (Click/Tap): This is a great starter set especially when your alcohol markers are of this caliber.
Copic vs Ohuhu Markers
There’s no secret, Copic markers are overall the better marker, when compared to Ohuhu. However, in our opinion, the brush nib of the Ohuhu marker feels better. It feels more firm while coloring. Despite this, the brush nibs just don’t last nearly as long.
When comparing Ohuhu vs Copic, it’s a matter of overall quality and price. If you want quality, you’re going to pay the price. However, if you go the budget route, you will pay the price by refilling or placing nibs on a more frequent basis.
